Welcome to
Trace Network

Welcome to the homepage of the TRACE Wildlife Forensics Network. TRACE is an international NGO that aims to promote the use of forensic science in biodiversity conservation and the investigation of wildlife crime.

The TRACE network brings together forensic scientists and enforcement agencies in order to exchange information on the latest challenges facing wildlife law enforcement and modern techniques for tackling them.

This website provides access to information on wildlife forensic techniques, links to wildlife forensic laboratories around world and recent publications and case histories involving wildlife forensic approaches. The site also includes a Q&A forum for any member to seek or provide expert advice.

We strongly encourage forensic practitioners in the field and wildlife protection authorities to join TRACE by registering on this page. Membership is regulated by the TRACE organising committee and access to the site is controlled.
